injuries, driver lost control of vehicle and hit a fence, driver cited for no

proof of insurance.

Residential burglary reported on South Fork Coppei Road, woodsplitting tools, wrenches and a chain saw were stolen, no suspects at this

time. A caller reported an open beer bottle had been thrown at a vehicle

on West Eighth Street, the bottle broke the windshield and dented the

roof. Lost wallet reported on Maple Street.

Prisoner work crew on East Main Street. Forced entry made into a

shed on South Third Street, lock cut, chain saw and weed whacker reported missing, no further information, under investigation. Stray animal on

South Touchet Road. Juvenile problem on East Main Street. Horse caught

in fence on Highway 12. Report of an intruder in a home on South Fourth

Street, using the Internet to post social media messages, approximately

$200 reported missing, no further information, under investigation.

Vehicle slide-off reported on Hartsock Grade Road, unable to locate.

Vehicle stuck in snow by owner on Maloney Mountain Road, will be

removed in next 24 hours. Shoplifting reported at the Shell station on

West Main Street, no arrests made, owner is not pressing charges. Domestic dispute on East Washington Avenue. Black leather briefcase with

combination lock located in the middle of Main Street. Brass-colored

key on blue carbine found on county courthouse lawn. Fraud reported on

South Third Street, caller checked with local bank and learned that this

is a scam. Loose dog on East Main Street at the Weinhard Hotel, reporting party found the owners who reclaimed the dog. Suspicious person/

circumstances on East Spring Street.

Theft of money reported on South Third Street. Abandoned snowmobile on North Touchet Road. Vandalism reported on South Second

Street. Fishing violation reported on South Second Street. Violation of

court order reported on East Main Street. Runaway juvenile reported on

Johnson Hollow Road, juvenile located. Report of theft of a gate on South

Second Street, possible civil matter. Backpacks left outside of Dayton

High School, deputy investigated. Suspicious activity reported on East

Tremont Street, unfounded.

Harassment reported on South Fifth Street. Horse loose on Bundy

Hollow Road. Reckless driver on Highway 12, unable to locate. Man

observed peering into windows of the county courthouse. Fire observed

on South Sixth Street, deputy responded, observed a small brush fire,

residents put it out and were cautioned about using a fire pit or ring.

Hit and run accident at the PDQ food mart, vehicle body damage

reported, no suspects at this time, under investigation. Theft of a saw

reported on North First Street. Assault reported on Highway 12, deputies

determined that the reporting party had been the aggressor in the physical

confrontation. Dog barking on South Fourth Street. Two adults booked

for assault, male housed in Columbia County Jail, female will be transported to Garfield County Jail.
