Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

Waitsburg Highlighted In Two Magazines

WAITSBURG - The city of Waitsburg has received some much-deserved attention in Seattle and Sunset magazines this month.

In Seattle magazine, Waitsburg is listed as one of the "Small-Town Getaways" in the East. The piece highlights the Waitsburg Cottages, jimgermanbar, Whoopemup Hollow Café, Amo Art, the Seven Porches Guest House and the Coppei Coffee Co. It also suggests visitors travel to nearby Dayton to visit Mace Mead Works and the Monteillet Fromagerie. Small Northwest towns that also made the list are Tieton, Joseph, Ore., and Orondo.

In the May edition of Sunset Magazine, Waitsburg is recognized by writer Sara Dickerman as being part of "The Next Big Wine Country," alongside Prosser, Red Mountain and Walla Walla. Dickerman calls Waitsburg's Main Street "precious" and yet "uncannily cool" because of the businesses that are open here. She said she will begin her evening at jimgermanbar with a Negroni, continue on to housesmoked duck and crawfish at Whoopemup Hollow Café and finish her evening at the Anchor Bar. She also highlights her place to sleep as the Waitsburg Cottages.

Both magazines are on newsstands now and the Seattle Magazine piece can be found online at seattlemag.com.
