WAITSBURG JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SHOW WAITSBURG -- The 4-H Waitsburg Corral Wranglers Club will be participating in the Waitsburg Junior Livestock Show on June 9 and 10. On Saturday, there will only be sheep, goats, pigs and streers. At 9 a.m. that day, there will be livestock judging. The public is welcome. The Corral Wranglers Club is open to service project ideas. The next 4-H meeting will be July 2 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Waitsburg park.
CAR SHOW THANK YOU WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg "One Of A Kind" Classic Auto Show Group would like to thank all of its sponsors and business gift sponsors for their generosity. Without their help, the show would not have been the success it was. The organizers would also like to thank the parade organizers, Walt and Gwen Gobel, for working with them to make the show and the day a complete success. Also a special thanks to Dan and the city crew for the great-looking park they maintain.
JUNIOR GOLF LESSONS DAYTON -- Free Junior golf lessons will be offered to all kids in Dayton, Waitsburg and the surrounding areas June 25-29. A signup sheet is on the counter at the Sandtrap restaurant at the Dayton Golf Course. All interested kids must be registered before June 20. Class sizes are limited to 20 per class, so early registration is encouraged. There will be three 50 minute classes held each day beginning at 9 a.m. and each student will be in one of the three classes. Everyone will be called prior to the program with the information about their class time. If students are involved with swim team practices or other commitments at certain times of the morning, leave a note at the restaurant as to a best time for them. Walla Walla Veteran Memorial Golf Course Pro, Max Reinland, will be teaching the lessons and also providing golf clubs and golf balls for the lessons. Kids who already have their own golf clubs are encouraged to bring them.
PRESCOTT POOL OPENS SATURDAY PRESCOTT - The Prescott Joint Park and Recreation District's Prescott swimming pool will open for the 2012 summer season on Saturday, June 9 at noon. The pool is open from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Pool passes for one day cost $3 for youth and seniors, $4 for adults and admission is free for children 5 and under with a paying adult.
WALLA WALLA ROCK CAMP WALLA WALLA - A Rock Camp presented by The Walla Walla Symphony will be held July 30-Aug 3. Please sign up asap as there are limited openings. The Walla Walla Public Schools Music Department and Garrison Middle School will host a one week performance camp designed to give its attendees the experience of producing a Rock 'n Roll concert. The camp is open to students, ages 12-18, no experience necessary. It will be held at Garrison Middle School, 906 Chase St. from July 30-Aug. 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m .; Final Performance Friday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. Cost is FREE, but limited to first 60 campers to sign up. FORT WALLA WALLA DAYS WALLA WALLA -- This year, Walla Walla marks the 150th anniversary of its incorporation as a city - its sesquicentennial. The official community celebration takes place Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10, at Fort Walla Walla Museum. As part of the celebration, Fort Walla Walla Museum will discount $1 off regular admission. While members and children under six are always free, children 6-12 will be $2; seniors (62+) and students $5, and adults $6. No other discounts can be combined with these special rates for Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. WOMEN CONNECTING WITH WOMEN WALLA WALLA - The Women Connecting with Women in Walla Walla event will be held at 7 p.m. on June 12 at the Walla Walla Country Club. Cost is $10 for program and dessert. There will be a special feature on entrepreneurial business women. Enjoy getting acquainted with Walla Walla area women sharing a quick synopsis of their home-based businesses. You will have a chance to "talk and shop" during the dessert time. Guest speaker will be Marilyn Barba who is an "Innovator" and former business executive.
