An insurance crisis hits the Days of Real Sports. The Days of Real Sports Board of Directors is grappling with an insurance problem which must be resolved before next May's meet if horses racing in Waitsburg will continue. Race horse trainers had until June 12th, to get their racing stock off the Days of Real Sports ground after the DRS board learned last week it would be unable to obtain general and event liability for the coming years. The boards planned to meet Wednesday evening to discuss the unfolding crisis.

Jeff Jameson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jameson, will be attending Boys State later this month. He is a senior at Waitsburg High School, active in sports and will be serving as student body president. He is sponsored by the Waitsburg Lions Club.
Lois Stephenson starts a sewing shop in Waitsburg. For those of you who have wondered about the sign "Hi, I'm Lois" on the window of the Plaza shop, we are prepared to fill you in. Lois is Lois Stephenson, owner of a new shop called "Lois Stitches & Alterations.

Kenneth H. Jones, son of Dorrel Jones and Mrs. Gerald Chaffin of Tekoa, was ordained as a minister of the Tekoa Christian Church Sunday. Attending the ceremony from here were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Meinberg, Mrs. Pearl Blevins, and Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Jones and family.
Touchet Valley Grain Growers are constructing two new tanks at the Coppei wheat station with a 2,000 bushel capacity for each tank.

Togged out in the best "Bring Em Back Alive" style, Lassie and Howard Smith captured the sweepstakes prize in the parade held in connection with the Walla Walla Junior Chamber of Commerce Sunshine Festival.
Geo. Bateman of Bateman's Restaurant will be chief cook for the Boy Scout Jamboree at Camp Rotary on Mill Creek this summer. The Bateman's have just returned from the 36th Annual Rinehart reunion.

The wedding of Miss Katherine Matilda McCall to Mr. John Henry Vollmer took place Wednesday evening, June 12, Christian Church at 8 o'clock and proved a very pretty and impressive affair. Rev. W.H. Harris officiated using the beautiful ring ceremony.
The Endeavourers of the Christina Church will serve an ice cream social on Aunt Roxia Keiser's lawn Saturday afternoon commencing at 2:30 and continuing until dark. A liberal dish of ice cream and good cake, 10 cents.

Miss Laura Preston is home from Whitman College. Herman Sattler, wife and two daughters spent last Sunday and Monday visiting in this city and Huntsville.
Mrs. C.B. Richardson, the milliner and dressmaker, will sell any and every article in her establishment at first cost prices until July 4th.
Tomorrow the Whiskey Creek baseball club will play the second nine of this city in this city. Miss Ruth Arnold of this city has been employed as teacher in the Huntsville public school.
