This is the 15th and final year with this ministry. BLUE MOUNTAIN ARTISTS GUILD NEWS DAYTON -- Local artists have been meeting and changing out the display in the Delany Building once a month. Some of the previously hung paintings are delivered to the Dayton General Hospital and displayed in the lobby and hallway. Stop in to see the "Water" theme show when you visit the library during the month of June. The next meeting of the guild will be at 7 p.m., June 26 at the Delany Building. The July theme is local history. All artists are welcome to attend.
WALLA WALLA SHERIFF ROUNDTABLE PRESCOTT -- The Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office holds ongoing quarterly community meetings so the leaders of the office can visit directly with the people we are privileged to serve. Each quarter, the sheriff, and/or a member of his command staff, will host a meeting in the area. We encourage residents to come on out, learn what's new with your sheriff's office, and participate in community discussions on how it can serve you better. All meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. and will last approximately one hour. Schedule: Waitsburg / Prescott / North County, Thursday, June 21, Prescott School Library, Burbank / Wallula, Tuesday, June 26, Columbia High School Library, Walla Walla / College Place, Thursday, June 28, Walla Walla High School Commons. There is a strong possibility that Prosecuting Attorney Jim Nagle will be joining us in Prescott, Burbank and Wa-Hi as the guest speaker.

FLAGS TO FLY LOWER WALLA WALLA -- The Walla Walla County Commis- sioners' office contacted the office of Gov.Chris Gregoire and learned that the county, as well as many others in the local area, have been asking for a directive to lower flags in honor of First Lt. Mathew "Mat" Fazzari. Brent Heinemann, Director, Office of International Relations and Protocol, c/o of the Governor's office, concurs with the position of the county and other local entities requesting to be allowed to lower all flags to half-staff prior to the official directive, as a sign of respect. As such, Walla Walla County Commissioners have once again directed that all flags at the county courthouse and other county offices shall be lowered to half-staff until further notice, to pay tribute to First Lt. Mathew "Mat" Fazzari. No disrespect toward flag protocol is intended; rather, the county commissioners wish to offer this flag lowering as an expression of condolence to the Fazzari family, and in recognition of this great loss to our community.
