DISPOSE OF YOUR DEBRIS WAITSBURG -- The city of Waitsburg is offering a dispos- al service for city residents. Citizens can take any debris they may have from the recent wind storm to the waste water treat- ment plant for the next week during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

GOLF TOURNAMENT DAYTON -- The second annual Touchet Valley Ryder Cup golf tournament will be held July 6, 7 and 8 at the Touchet Val- ley Golf Course in Dayton. Last year, the Dayton/Columbia County players went home with the trophy. The event featured players from Waitsburg/Walla Walla County against Dayton/ Columbia County in a European-style men's golf tournament. Three formats are used and no handicaps were assigned. More than 40 players have signed up so far. To sign up, contact TJ Scott at 509-240-0990 or Kim Lyonnais at 509-540-2626. Tee times are 1 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.

JOIN DAYTON'S AQUACIZE PROGRAM DAYTON -- The adult Aquacize classes at the Dayton pool began Monday, June 2, and costs $2 for a single day pass and $50 for a season pass. The classes are volunteer-led, low-impact aerobics and do not require participants to be able to swim. The classes will be conducted mostly in the shallow end of the pool and par- ticipants can join in as much or as little as they want and do not have to commit to attending every day. The classes will be from 12 to 1 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The classes will continue daily until the pool closes at the end of the summer. PRESCOTT BOARD VACANCY PRESCOTT - The Prescott School Board last night voted to accept the resignation of former school board member Pam Stueckle. Superintendent Dr. Bill Jordan suggested the board appoint Eva Madrigal to the Director Area 2 seat and open the Director Area 4 seat as vacant. The board approved the recom- mendation and is asking for residents in Director Area 4 to ap- ply for the position. CHRISTIAN WOMEN'S BRUNCH STARBUCK - The Christian Women's Connection Brunch will be from 10 a.m. to noon, July 11, at the home of Judy Jackson in Starbuck. The cost is $10 and it is catered by Louann Truesdale. The theme of this brunch is Life is Sweet and recounts the story of Cindy Scinto and her lifesaving heart transplant. Music will be provided by Rachel Fitchen, a home- schooler from Pomeroy who has toured with the Salt & Light Christian youth music group. Also, Jennifer Hutchens of NW Queen Bees, which is located up the Tucannon Road, will share with us all the importance of honeybees and the many health benefits of honey in our diet. RESERVATIONS ARE NEEDED AND BABYSITTING IS AVAILABLE. Please call Judy Jackson at 399-2005 to reserve your lunch and also to let her know if you need a babysitter for the luncheon. LACY LACERS TO HOLD LACE DAY WALLA WALLA -- The public is invited to attend a Lace Day on July 7, Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members of the Walla Walla Lacy Lacers and guests will gather to create lace at the Whitman Mission Na- tional Historic Site, 328 Whitman Mission Road, West of Walla Walla. A Lace Day is an opportunity for members to demonstrate their skills to the community. A Charter Chapter of the International Old Lacers, Inc. (I.O.L.I.), Walla Walla Lacy Lacers is a local group of vol- unteers who not only teach and promote lace making but also work to promote interest in the fine old laces. Members and guests will demonstrate bobbin lace, knitted lace, crocheted lace, and tatted lace. Some "hands on" activities are planned, too. WALLA WALLA DANCE FESTIVAL WALLA WALLA -- Walla Walla Summer Dance Festival is pleased to announce the addition of Los Angeles-based hip- hop artists, NOBILITY MOB, to the performance lineup for the 2012 Season. Mark your Dance Cards for Thursday, July 26 at 5 p.m. at the Land Title Plaza (First and Main streets) in historic downtown Walla Walla. At that hour, Los Angeles- based NOBILITY MOB will take the street. Nobility Mob, also known as No Mo, is a cutting edge dance group that electrifies its audience with movement rooted in hip-hop. This performance is free and open to the public. Nobility Mob will also be featured in the WWSDF's Grand Festival Performance on Friday, July 27 at 7 p.m. in Cordiner Hall on the Whitman College campus. Tickets for the Friday night event, which also features performances by the Oregon Ballet Theatre and a world premier by New York City's John Passafiume Dancers, are $20 for adults, $10 for seniors and students with ID, and $50 for families (up to two adults with children).
