The weekend included working in the garden turn- ing the earth with organic compost matter, making a deep rich row for sugar pumpkin starters; perfect for fall casseroles and pieshellip;yum!

The winery: family owned and operated, Morrison Lane of Walla Walla, a winery that has been providing grapes to winemakers and for its own estate grown- wines of Rhone Valley and Italian finish, since 1997. Tasting room at: 1249 Lyday lane, Walla Walla, 509- 526-0229.

The wine: 2010 Morrison Lane Viognier, a palo- mino white, clean and bright, exhibiting tropical fruits and apricot nuance, tongue sprinkle in salt box mineral- ity. A wine good with poached sea bass on salad greens squiggled in a lemony-honey comb dressing. As you will discover, at just $24 a bottle, this wine is a bargain pairing well with summer foods of distinction.

The winemaker: Sean Morrison first earned a degree in environmental chemistry and spent time under the wing and guidance of winemaker extraordinary, John Abbot at Abeja Cellars. Sean left Abbot to take over the wine making at his family's winery, Morrison Lane. Today, Sean has produced a remarkable wine portfolio of Morrison wines, including the 2010 Viognier. Honey Comb Dressing

A salad dressing woman love to make and menmarry for!

Serves 2

4 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon fresh-squeezed lemon juice

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 clove garlic minced

1 teaspoon warm water

Method:

In a bowl whisk all ingredients until glossy and well mixed. Drizzled over cold poached fish and salad greens paired with a wedge of room-temperature Lemon Stilton Cheese, crackers and a bottle of chilled Morrison Lane 2010 Viognier wine.
