19th Peach Basket Classic Aug. 4 & 5 Downtown Walla Walla Sign up for some lively competition in 31 divisions from Youth to Corporate Cup. This tournament is designed around the 3-on-3, pick-up style game played in athletic clubs, recreation centers or driveways at home. The goals of this event are to have fun, promote the game of basketball (which was in- vented at a YMCA in 1891), and support youth outreach programs in the Walla Walla community. National Night Out Columbia County Dayton City Park 5 to 8 p.m. National Night Out is an annual anti-crime, anti-drug event sponsored by the Na- tional Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by Columbia County Sheriff's Office and the Co- lumbia County Friends of 9-1-1. Dayton City Park will be filled with events and activities. Free hot dogs will be served by local volunteers and the members of the Dayton Kiwanis and Dayton Lion's Club. Free bottled wa- ter and free soft drinks have also been donated. Forty- one exhibits are anticipated this year on the park lawn. In addition to the free food, exhibits and demonstrations, guests will have the chance to include their names in free prize drawings - but you must be present to win.

This year's National Night Out Against Crime will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Pioneer Park. The parade of service vehicles will begin at 5:15 p.m., and events includ- ing the swearing in of this year's Chief for a Day partic- ipants will begin at 5:30 p.m. This event is free, including hot dogs and root beer floats provided by Banner Bank. A Ci Shred Truck sponsored by Bank Security Officers As- sociation will be on site again this year, so bring documents for free shredding (limit four grocery bags or two legal boxes per person).

Dunham Days Aug. 24 through Aug. 26 Dunham Cellars 150 E Boeing Ave. The third-annual Dunham Days in Walla Walla hosts a full weekend of memorable events to cel- ebrate harvest. At 6 p.m. on Friday, festivities begin in the Hangar Lounge with live music, food by An- drae's Kitchen, and wine by the glass. There is no cover charge for this event; however food and wine will be available by purchase only. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, swing by the winery for vertical tastings pulled from the library by the winemaking team, Eric Dunham and Dan Wampfler. Additional $5 tasting fee, free to Wine Club Mem- bers. At 10 a.m. on Sunday, organizers will send you on your way in style with a brunch your taste buds won't soon forget! $20 per person.
