Dayton Earns First Victory

DAYTON - The Dayton Bulldogs hit the field shoot- ing against the Ukiah Cougars Tuesday night and came out on top with a final score of 11-3, Bulldogs.

In the first half, Pedro Bar- bosa de Deus scored a hat trick in the first six minutes of the game. The Bulldogs kept the pressure on, taking shots at ev- ery opportunity and keeping the ball in Cougar territory.

Ian Smay took several great shots throughout the game, keeping the Cougars' keeper on his toes. Less than 10 minutes into the game, Zack Waggner headed to the goal for the Bulldogs' fourth point, brining the score to 4-0.

Marshall Nechodom scored at 10:55, and Courtney Fuller scored a penalty shot, bringing the score to 6-0 at the end of the half.

Barbosa wasted no time at the top of the second half, putting the ball in the net at 36:59 bringing the score to 7-0. Brian Mascall followed up with a goal at 30:10. At 25:19, Fuller hit the net again, bringing the score to 9-0. Ian Smay scored two back to back at 22:02 and 21:11, bringing the score to 11-0, Bulldogs. Offsides calls slowed the Bulldogs down dramatically and the Cougars struck back at 10:41 and 10:32, bringing the score to 11-2. The Cougars scored again with only two minutes left on the clock, making the final score 11-3, Bulldogs.

Head Coach DJ Frame said he is very happy with how the team played.

"I was happy for the win," Frame said. "The kids worked on confidence hellip; and everyone got to play."

The Bulldogs' next game is against Walla Walla Valley Academy at 4 p.m. at WWVA.
