Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
You've heard the term "job creator" bandied about a lot. Rich Cowan, who is running for the 5th Congressional District seat, is a real job creator.
After working in TV for some years, in 1990 he mortgaged his house, attracted other investors and started the company North x Northwest Productions which has produced over 40 feature films and now has five divisions. Since founding the company he has brought millions of dollars and hundreds of good jobs to the region.
Have the millionaires and billionaires been taking advan- tage of the healthy tax breaks they have been receiving since 2002? Have they taken advan- tage of the near zero interest rates to build new American factories with American jobs? Sadly, we know the answer to that. In fact, companies have received benefits to move jobs overseas. They have increased the number of workers wiring money to the Cayman Islands and Zurich. If you want your son or daughter to have job security, steer them toward wire transfers. Cathy McMorris Rodgers wants to give the super rich even bigger tax breaks.
Think of who started industries lately. It's been people like Rich Cowen, who have taken risks. Apple and Micro- soft were started by college dropouts. Starbucks started as a small store in the Pike Place Market.
Rich Cowan withdrew as CEO of North x Northwest to run for Congress because he doesn't think the incumbent is serving her constituents well.
Rich Cowan doesn't want to become part of Beltway culture or be a slave to the party line. Isn't it time to send someone to the other Washington who wants to break the obstruction- ist logjam and do something positive for the majority of the people of the 5th Congressional district?
Please vote for Rich Cowan in November.
