New Fire Engine

Waitsburg and Fire District 2 Chief Jim Callahan shows off the city's new fire engine last Monday. The new engine is a 1986 Pierce, purchased from Fire District 10 in Airway Heights for $25,111. The engine replaces a 1962 Ford Westland that is no longer certified or ca- pable of responding to emergencies. The city is trying to surplus the old one and would still entertain any bids from interested parties. The new engine was in service and ready to go last Monday night.
