Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

Dear Editor:

When I first met Mike Talbott some 35 years ago, he impressed me with his honesty and dedication to his job. He is well read and keeps on business developments. He also has the ability to listen and hears and understands what people say to him .He keeps up with the latest world and regional events so he is able to make decisions whether it be for his successful farm, the downtown busi- ness he and his wife operated for ten years, or the other important positions he has held like the Dayton School Board, County Planning Commission or the Columbia County Grain Growers Board. Whatever he decides to do, he is 110 percent committed.

Mike Talbott has earned my vote for the position of county commissioner because he is involved in his community. His experience on the County Planning Commission allows him to become familiar with some of the problems facing the county and gives him a base of information from which to operate. His involvement with the community includes such projects as volunteer- ing for the solar heating conversion of the swimming pool and helping with the jobs that come up with the maintenance of the Liberty Theater. Mike has helped out our young people by being a coach for soccer, girls AAU basketball, and being involved with the Norgaard Trust, which provides thou- sands of dollars in scholar- ships to our young people.

He is a natural born work- er, thinker and planner and is very dedicated to whatever he undertakes. He is the most qualified person for this posi- tion in all respects. May I ask you to join me in voting for Mike Talbott for this impor- tant commissioner's position. He will listen to you and give consideration to recommendations you present to him.

Sincerely,Jim Kime

Dayton
