Regular Meeting Minutes
November 6, 2012
The flag salute and prayer preceded the lasagna dinner and apple pie and ice cream dessert. 22 people were served. Laurette McCaw's name was drawn for the quarter pot for $13.00. She was present. The business meet- ing was convened at 7:05 p.m. by President Joy Smith. She introduced Rose Engelbrite of the American Legion Auxiliary who conducted a muster for Ty Savelesky who will be joining the Navy later this month. He intro- duced his grandparents Laura and George Tolman and his cousin. All who had been members of a U.S. service were recognized. Jack McCaw presented Ty with a gift and the Auxiliary gave him a flag to wear next to his heart. The minutes of the October 16th meeting were approved as read.
M/S/C to accept the revised by-laws for Commercial Club. An updated copy was presented for the membership.
NEW BUSINESS
-Allison Bond was intro- duced. She and Imbert Matthee have signed a contract to have Allison become the proprietor of the Coppei Coffee Café. We are urged to support Main Street businesses and we wish Allison much success.
-Two businesses have closed - La Monarca and the Palouse Fitness Center.

HOMETOWN CHRIST- MAS
Barb Knopp reported that she and Jane Butler have solicited many donations. There will be a parade; chili feed (and other tasty delights); December 1-Bingo; December 2-Hometown Christ- mas events; December 3- Kids shopping. Santa Claus will appear at Etceteras. Entertainment and shopping galore!!
Next meeting is November 20, 2012, Lisa Naylor will be the speaker. Thanks to the House committee and to April Gould for the delicious dinner.
PROGRAM
The Speaker was Joe Jacobs, Certified Business Advisor for the Small Business Development Center in Walla Walla. He has had success and failure in small business ventures both of which have been learning experiences. His philosophy is that Small busi- nesses are the "engine that drives our country"- they really create our wealth. He advises and teach- es courses through Washingotn State University on financial and Strategic Planning, management training and market research. Meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
