The Flag salute and prayer preceded the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. 21 people were served. Marci Perkins name was drawn for the quarter pot for $4.00. She was not present. The business meeting was convened at 7:00 pm, by President Joy Smith. The minutes of the November 6th meeting were approved.

ON GOING

BUSINESS

The money from the Hevel Fund will be decided by the Board: possibilities: $500 for mop sink; $500 swimming pool; $500 businesses implementation; other(?).

Hometown Christmas- Schedule cards will be distributed: Dec. 1 Turkey Bingo at 4:00pm; Dec. 2 12 noon Bazaar opens/ 3:30 drawing begins/5:00 parade begins/5:30 chili feed and potato soup supper at $3.00 per person begins.

NEW BUSINESS

Joy introduced FFA members Heidi Miller and Carolyn Brooks who presented their project "Waitsburg Festival of Trees" a fresh tree decorating contest on Main Street. Decorating to be done on Sat. Dec. 1st at 10 am lighting on Dec. 2nd at 4:30pm. Trees will be available. Joy distributed membership certificates. Next meeting will be Dec. 4, waiting for confirmation from new manager of Ski Bluewood, December 20 Speaker Jim Kuntz from the Port of Walla Walla to update the membership on the Waitsburg Business Park.

Thanks to the House committee and April Gould for the delicious turkey dinner.

PROGRAM

Joy introduced the speaker Linda Vannoster, the administrative officer for the resource Conservation and Development Council (RC&D). This Council is 11 years old and a member of the National Council since 2001. They have successfully written grants for many southeast Washington projects beginning with the Lewis & Clark commemoration project and including many wildfire/ diesel usage/conservation projects/Camp Wooten/ Lyons Ferry walkway etc. Blue Mountain Community Foundation has been a primary Grant provider. Many workshops continue to educate citizens of the area. The RC&D was defunded by the U.S. government, but remains viable with offices in the Waitsburg Business Center, thus grant research is continuing. Meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm
