Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
As Mayor of the City of Waitsburg, I am proud of all of the folks that worked so hard to once again bring our tradi- tional "Hometown Christmas" to town, on December 2. The efforts were led by the Com- mercial Club, and its president, Joy Smith. Great job, Joy!
The Ye Town Hall was buzz- ing with vendors, music and ac- tivities, it was a lot of fun! I was really impressed with the new FFA Festival of Trees project, it was a wonderful idea and one that we hope will continue to be a part of our traditional Home Town Holiday! Thank you FFA and advisors!
Thank you downtown mer- chants for getting involved with this new idea, for the many various tree decorations and your support for this new proj- ect. A special thank you to the Fire Department. for decorating Main Street, to the Sheriff's Department for diverting and directing traffic for the parade. A thank you is due the many service organizations in town for getting involved at Ye Town Hall. You all worked to make our celebration a "one-of-akind" Sunday afternoon. Thank you all!
There were some who welcomed many guests into their stores "after hours" so that they could stay warm for the Lighted Parade. Thanks to the Li- brary for having Sunday hours and hosting parade watchers. Thank you to those who participated in the parade, your efforts to decorate your floats and light up Main Street is really appreciated. A special thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Santa, we were impressed with your top-notch costumes! Nicely done!
On behalf of the City Council of Waitsburg and the resi- dents and visitors, we say Thanks hellip; it really is great to live in Waitsburg and enjoy wonderful Hometown Events like this!
Sincerely,
Mayor Walt Gobel
