1: Bulldogs To State
After growing up together playing basketball, a core group of senior Bulldogs and their younger teammates made it to the state basketball tournament in Spokane for the first time in years.
Dayton suffered an initial defeat, but showed its teeth with a feisty comeback only to succumb in their third game to the precision-guided Wahkiakum Mules 57- 41 and end up in sixth for their division.

2: Cardinals MakeSemis
After beating the Reardan Indians 39- 12 in the quarter finals, the Cardinals vaulted into the semi finals, but were done in by Lind-Ritzville.
3: Cards & Dogs Go To State
Th e Lady Bulldogs and Lady Cardinals each made the state softball tournament in Yakima after impressive seasons.
4: Burg Hosts Cage Fight
For the first time, Waitsburg hosted a mixed martial arts fighting event at the city’s fairgrounds. It was followed later in the year by one at the Town Hall.
5: Special Olympics Medal
Dayton’s Kris Wilbur received a third-place medal for the 100-meter sprint at the Special Olympics in Milton-Freewater.
