Samantha Harting and Kane Hackett were chosen as the recipients of the 2013 P.E.O. Citizenship Award. This award is given to the outstanding young wom- an and man in the senior class, judged on the qualities of character, scholarship and activities. Especially emphasized are honesty, courtesy, amiability, mo- rality and punctuality--the marks of a good citizen.
Recipients are selected by the high school fac- ulty, the associated stu- dent body officers and the P.E.O. Awards Committee.
The award consists of a certificate that was presented at a reception in their honor and a $300 check to be presented at graduation. The P.E.O. Citizenship Award was first presented in 1930 and has continued for 83 years.
