Iris Mae Stearns

Dayton, Washing­ton resident, Iris Mae Stearns, 84, passed away April 18, 2013, at the Washington Odd Fel­lows Home, 534 Boyer Av­enue, Walla Walla, Wash­ington.

Iris was born June 2, 1928, in Waitsburg, Washington, to David Wilbur and Mildred Hazel Casey. She graduated from Waitsburg High School and attended beauty school and worked as a hair stylist. On December 13, 1953, she and Gerald Stearns were mar­ried in Walla Walla.

Her hobbies included quilting and crocheting, but her primary focus in life was her dedication to visiting and checking in on friends, family and shut-ins. She was a member of the Waitsburg Presbyterian Church and 55er Club.

Iris is survived by two sons: John E. Stearns and Clarence E. Stearns; grandchildren: Stephanie McGee, Jared Stearns, Greg Stearns, Gracesun Stearns and Brailyn Stearns; two great-grandchildren: Shea McGee and Savannah Mc­Gee; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband.

The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Waitsburg Presbyterian Church. Pastor Brett Moser will officiate.
