County Seeks Applicants for Positions on Fair and Frontier Days Board of Directors

Walla Walla County is seeking persons interested in filling two upcoming vacan­cies on the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days Board of Directors. Board members serve three year terms. For balanced representation pur­poses, female applicants are encouraged to apply; how­ever, all applicants will be considered for appointment to fill the vacancies.

Members of the fair board meet once a month, or as needed; however, members perform board-related du­ties approximately ten hours a month during most the year, then at a minimum sixty hours in the weeks just before, during, and after the annual Fair and Frontier Days event, which is held over Labor Day week-end. Board members serve in a volunteer capacity, perform­ing duties as outlined in various board-related job descriptions.

Application packets (containing an application form, questionnaire, and background information regarding fair board du­ties and activities) may be obtained from the County website (www.co.walla- walla.wa.us), Walla Walla County Commissioners' Office, Courthouse, 314 West Main/P.O. Box 1506, Walla Walla, or by calling the Commissioners' Office at (509) 524-2505. Appli­cation packets may also be picked up at the fairgrounds main office, Ninth and Or­chard Streets, Walla Walla, or by calling the fairgrounds at (509) 527-3247. Interest­ed persons are encouraged to call or email (wwcocom­missioners@ co.walla-walla. wa.us) questions regarding this opening. Completed application packets must be returned to the county com­missioners' office by May 29, 2013. As a part of the selection process, applicants may be interviewed.
