CHENEY - Dayton sophomore Kaitlyn Andrews was the only local girl competing at the state track meet in Cheney last week.
Andrews placed fifth in the javelin, with a throw of 118 feet, 5 inches. Her longest throw of the season was 122 feet 9 inches, in March.
Andrews also competed in the 100 meter dash on Saturday. She placed ninth in the preliminary heat, missing the finals by one place.
