Free Child Safety Kits and Fire Department Tours on Saturday

WAITSBURG - The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) is promoting its child safety education campaign, Take 25. The campaign encourages parents and guardians, educatiors, law enforcement officers and other trusted adults to take 25 minutes to talk to children about safety.

NCME developed the Campaign seven years ago to spread awareness of the issues surrounding missing and exploited children beyond May 25th, National Missing Children's Day.

The Campaign, which spans from April 1 through June 15, encourages local organizations around the country to host safety events and distribute resources to promote adults having safety conversations with children.

The Walla Walla Area Crime Watch, Blue Mountain CART, Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office, Walla Walla Emergency Services Communication (9- 1-1) and the Waitsburg Fire Department will be working together to offer SafeAssured Child Identification kits, 9-1-1 Education and Fire Department tours on June 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Waitsburg Fire Department

They will be offering FREE SafeAssured ID packets. Families will receive a full-color data card and a parent's guidebook with prevention tips, written in conjunction with the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children. The privacy-protected mini-CD offers a single repository of important information:
