You are invited to join us upstairs at the Depot Gallery at the Dayton Historic Depot Museum at 222 E. Commercial Street. Meet the artists and view the beautiful art display and sale in the De- pot Gallery. 21+ only.
Bus Tours of Blue Mountain Station, 11-2
Buses will depart from North First & Main Street at 11:00, 11:45, 12:30 and 1:15. Visit Day- ton's new project, the Food Artisan Center at the Blue Mountain Station. Learn about the project, the artisan food processors, the future food co-op, the commercial kitchen and the energy efficient building. Kids may have one free pumpkin.
Free Museums 11-4
The Dayton Historic Depot, 222 E. Commercial - The Dayton Depot is the oldest surviv- ing train depot in the state. It was originally built in 1881.
The Boldman House Museum, 410 N. First - This 1880 Queen Anne style structure became the home of Steven and Blanche Bold- man in 1912.
The Palus Artifact Museum (located across from the Veterans Memorial) offers a collection of locally found artifacts from the Palouse Indian tribe. This Native American tribe spent their win- ters near Palouse Falls and their summers hunting game and collecting roots and berries in Dayton and the nearby Blue Mountains. Also on display is a beautiful collection of native plants, native animals and a Lewis & Clark exhibition.
American Legion Post #42, 211 E. Clay - This post is one of the oldest in the West, established in 1919, the same year Congress chartered and incorporated this patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. The building, circa 1930 was originally a Christian Science Church owned by pastor ben Turner, which was donated to the American Legion in 1948. Visit the legion to view photographs and memorabilia of Dayton's members of the United States Armed Forces. Some of the content dates back to 1812. Refreshments served. Wheelchair access in the back.
