Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG - Seven commercial buildings opened their doors to the public on the afternoon of October 10 in a tour hosted by the Waitsburg Commercial Club. Real estate agents and/or owners were present at each building to field questions and offer tours.
It is estimated that about 30 people attended the event, and two buildings - the White Stallion Restaurant and the Lybecker Building on Main Street - received interest from prospective buyers.
The idea of hosting a commercial building tour came from Waitsburg resident and Plaza Theater owner Robbie Johnson, who had heard of a similar event in the Midwest and brought the idea to the Waitsburg Commercial Club Board for consideration. "It was a great way to make prospective buyers aware of the unique properties available in a viable historic business district," said Commercial Club President Joy Smith.
The Tour featured the White Stallion Restaurant, listed by Chrissy Talbot of Williams Team Homes Realty; the Hubbard Law Office, P.C. second story loft (available for lease), listed by Dave Anderson of Williams Team Homes Realty; the Lybecker Main Street Building, listed by Sharon Reynolds of Byrd Real Estate and hosted by Richard Lybecker; the Gregutt Building on Main Street, listed by Cheryl Husted of Coldwell Banker and hosted by Karen Gregutt; the Anchor Bar and J.W. Morgan Buildings, listed by Ben Sinner, West One Group Realty; and The Plaza Theater, listed by Julie Bicklehaupt of Blue Mountain Realtors.
Smith was pleased with the cooperation from both agents and building owners, especially Richard Lybecker and Karen Gregutt, who hosted their own buildings.
"I think the tour did a good job of bringing the buildings to the forefront," said Smith, who considers the event a success. "I'm not sure how many people had ever seen the Hubbard loft or realized that the Anchor Bar is for sale.
Anyone with questions about any of the properties mentioned are encouraged to contact the agent or owner.
