Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG - The Lady Cards bid farewell to their final chance to qualify for post season play with two losses last week.
Tuesday's loss against the Bulldogs in Dayton was followed by a loss Thursday in an away game against Asotin. " Both matches have been tough," said Coach Angie Potts.
The Asotin Panthers downed the Cardinals in a three set match on the Panther court with scores of 25-11, 25-15, and 25-10. Paige Wood dished out seven kills while making six digs and one block. Enedina Fuentes and made seven digs and Jaidyn Brown set up seven assists. Jade Alleman had two kills and two blocks, Taylor Hayes and Caitlin Jones each made five digs.
"Against Asotin, we struggled with unforced errors and completing plays," said Potts. "Asotin hit aggressively and we didn't respond very well."
The Lady Cards wrap up their season with a game against DeSales on the Irish court on Oct. 22 and a Homecoming Alumni Face-Off in Waitsburg on Oct. 24.
