Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG -- Four young ladies and their families took the initiative and commitment on April 16th to spend their spring and summer representing as the Waitsburg Celebration Days Royalty. Queen Emily Adams of Waitsburg, Princess Bryeana Myrick of Dayton, Princess Megan Morrison of Waitsburg and Princess Morgan Forney of Prescott, traveled to promote the valley in over 17 Pacific Northwest events.
"It has been amazing to watch these girls grow into young women" stated one of the court advisors: Amanda DeRuwe. "These young ladies have developed public speaking skills, self-composure, self-pride and horsemanship skills. They have proudly represented the area and gained life experiences which they can apply to their future".
The Royalty Court received immense amount of support from local business and residents. Community support provided funds essential for promotion of the area and a venue for the ladies to gain professional and personal growth. "There are not enough words to state how thankful the Royalty Court is for the support" stated Amanda DeRuwe.
Though the 2013 Waitsburg Celebration Days Royalty members are retiring their speeches, outfits and saddle flowers another year is just around the corner. If you know of a young lady interested in participating in the Waitsburg Celebration Days Royalty court, there will be a mandatory Parent/ Applicant Meeting on November 3, 2013 at the Waitsburg Business Center. Tryouts are scheduled for November 10, 2013. For more information please see Waitsburg Celebration Days Facebook or contact Amanda DeRuwe at 509- 240-2715.
