Local Events Support National Diabetes Month

DAYTON - Local healthcare providers plan to recognize National Diabetes Month with several free events around Dayton this November.

This Thursday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Elk Drug will offer a Diabetes Fair, together with the Columbia Cares Coalition and the Columbia County Health Department. Local nurses and dieticians will provide information on foot care, nutrition, health care, medication and affordable health care options.

The local Diabetes Support Group meets Wednes- day, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Dayton General Hospital cafeteria.

In addition, November 14th is Dining in Dayton for Diabetes Day. Eat at participating restaurants and enjoy diabetes friendly meals knowing that a por- tion of profits earned will go to support diabetes pro- motions in the community.

Also, find out more about the Dots for Diabetes challenge from your local healthcare professional.
