Waitsburg School Bands Christmas Events

WAITSBURG - Waits­burg music students will be volunteering their talents solo and in small groups dur­ing Waitsburg's Hometown Christmas, Sunday, Decem­ber 8 at Town Hall from 1 pm. To 3 p.m. Kate Hocker­smith's bluegrass groups will also be providing entertain­ment that afternoon. Both the Preston Hall and Waitsburg High School bands will play their own version of Jingle Louie during the Hometown Christmas Parade at 5 p.m.

Waitsburg Schools' Christmas Concert, featur­ing all four school bands will take place Monday, De­cember 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Waitsburg High School audi­torium. The 5th graders will perform their first concert ever with versions of Jingle Bells, Good King Wences­las, and other favorites. The 6th grade band will present Jingle Jolly Christmas, Up On the Housetop, and a mys­terious piece called Ancient Hunters.

Preston Hall's middle schoolers will perform New World Symphony, Wyndham Festival Overture, the beauti­ful African Drum Carol and Goo Time! By Carly Rae Jepsen. The high school band will wrap up the evening with Fanfare to the Unsung Hero, Kanye's All of the Lights, Leroy Anersons's Sleigh Ride, and a gorgeous holiday piece, And All the Bells Shall Ring.
