Two grants totalling about $700,000

-- $615,000 from the Department of

Transportation and the remainder from the state Transportation Improvement Board - made it possible to complete a major update to West Seventh Street, between Main and Arnold Street. Five large trees were removed to allow for the street-widening project that included a new roadway, sub-surface drainage, sidewalk instal­lation and signage.
