Dayton Girls, WP Boys to playoffs

WAITSBURG - The Dayton girls, basketball team secured the #2 seed in the Southeast District 9 League Tournament this weekend at DeSales in Walla Walla. The lady 'Dogs will face Tri-Cities Prep on Friday at 6 p.m. They will play again on Saturday, against an as yet unknown opponent.

The Dayton Girls will advance to the District 7/9 sub-regional tournament the following weekend. Games will be played in both Dayton and Waitsburg, and seeding will depend on league tour­nament results.

The Waitsburg-Prescott boys' basketball team ended its regular season seeded fourth in the league. They will therefore host the sub- regional "loser-out" play-in game to determine if they advance to the sub-regional tournament at DeSales on Friday and Saturday.

If they win Wednesday's game, the Cards will au­tomatically advance to the sub-regionals the follow­ing weekend, to be played in Dayton and Waitsburg. League tournament results will determine seeding.
