Dear Editor,
On March 18, 2014, at the Annual Meeting of the Waitsburg Commercial Club, we will continue our long standing tradition of honoring a person or persons who have gone to extraordinary efforts to help make our community a great place to live and to do business.
In addition, we will take time to elect a new slate of officers and board members to lead the economic development organization known as the Waitsburg Commercial Club.
The Waitsburg Commercial Club was incorporated in 1903 as a 501C6 economic development nonprofit organization. We are over 110 years old and still committed to the economic well being of Waitsburg's business community.
Most Chambers of Commerce started as a Commercial Club: Dayton Commercial Club, Pasco Commercial Club, Walla Walla Commercial Club, are a few with similar histories. Many Commercial Clubs, usually in the 50's and 60's, changed their names to Chambers of Commerce.
Waitsburg is a "one-of-a-kind" community; in that spirit the Waitsburg Commercial Club is Waitsburg's "one-of-a-kind" Chamber of Commerce; in all but the name.
The officers and members of Commercial Club invite you to join us as we begin formulating a strategic business plan for our community with 1 year, 5 year, and 10 year goals. We will be asking for broad community input using a variety of methods; so stay tuned.
The Commercial Club invites your participation in this process by becoming a member; liking our facebook page for updates and information; and attending membership meetings and planning meetings.
Commercial Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, September through May, 6:30PM at Waitsburg Town Hall. Members and non-members are welcome. Membership is only $25.00 per year for businesses and $10.00 per year for individuals. Your membership is recognition of and participation in our broad program of work.
