Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
Dear Editor:
It is very important that the citizens of Dayton and Columbia County pass this bond to renovate the high school and do parts of the grade school. There are too many problems to describe in a letter as to what needs to be done to bring the school up to present day standards. The last major renovation was done in 1985 and badly needs to be improved. We do not only need this for the students but we also need this for the survival and improvement of our community. Currently, the school has major roof, electrical and other infrastructure problems on almost a weekly basis. This project will bring all of the deficiencies up to date along with redoing the high school. A lot of people say this project is too much at one time, but if we do not do it now, it will only cost much more as time goes on. By doing everything we need to do now, we will be set for future generations of leaders and students coming out of Dayton. Our students are getting a top rate education in some very old and worn out buildings. They will do even better in the updated and improved facilities. VOTE YES FOR THE KIDS!!
