WAITSBURG - Extra tables were quickly pulled into place at Town Hall on Saturday afternoon as attendance at the American Legion Post #35 Spring Conference exceeded expectations. The first big event for new Legion Commander, Ron Standring, and wife Cindy Standring, was a roaring success. "I think everyone enjoyed it and it went really well," said Ron.
Attendees enjoyed a lunch of pulled pork and BBQ chicken, baked beans, salads and desserts with the Barnstormers providing lunchtime entertainment. Performer Emma Philbrook thanked the Legionnaires for their service and noted proudly that she was a Junior Auxiliary member.
Waitsburg Post #35 Legion members Delbert Mock, Jim Hansen, Ivan Keve, and Dorne Hall were honored for 70 years of membership.
