Columbia County Fair Kickoff Celebration

DAYTON - Columbia County is preparing for this year's fair with a Kickoff Celebration to take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 26, at the Dayton Fairgrounds Pavilion. This fundraising family fun, event includes a country buffet dinner, live dessert and special item auction, silent auction, door prizes and live entertainment.

A silent auction will run throughout the evening. Auction items include a Steve Henderson painting, Dumas Station wines, a Wildhorse Casino package, a handmade quilt, photography by Nick Page, restaurant gift certificates and much, much more. Richard & Nancy Monacelli will provide live entertainment with "James Taylor-style" music. Come and meet the hostesses for this year's fair which will take place Sept. 5, 6 and 7. The 2014 Fair Hostesses are: Haley Puckett, Samantha Sweetwood, Carissa Price and Stephanie Nerf. Local 4-H clubs will provide supervised childcare and games on a donation basis.

Kickoff Celebration tickets are available from Dayton Fair Board members Candy Jones, LeeAnn Literal, Tim Quade, Russell Shorten, Jennifer Stephens, Donna Hanger or by contacting Candy Jones at the Village Shoppes or at 382-9152. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 7 and under.
