Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
DAYTON - They held a track and field meet in Dayton last week, but a majority of Dayton's competitors were unavailable.
"Several of our team members left for FBLA State," said Coach Dan Nechodom, "so we were down quite a lot in numbers, and had others that needed to step out of events for other reasons."
Nechodom said the highlight for him in the meet was Norwegian exchange student Cami Haldorson, who "PRed" in two events.
"She dropped a few tenths of a second off her 100 meter dash and added nearly five feet to her discus throw," he said. "She can (and did, I believe) write home about that!"
A couple of other strong performances also came from Alexis Walker, who was second in both the 100 meter dash and 100 meter hurdles.
