Dayton Developmental Disabilities Leadership Reception

Open house with WA State Representative Maureen Walsh, for people and families that have children with developmental disabilities. The focus is specifically for people and families that have special needs or a disability, not other political agendas. This is not a fundraising event, but seed money donations will be accepted.

Shannon's Designated Drivers 5th Annual Fundraiser

Pioneer Park Gazebo, Walla Walla

1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Win games, prizes, face painting, refreshments and more. Open mic for sharing musical talent. All proceeds go to education and awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving and to provide sober rides home for those in need in Walla Walla County. In memory of Shannon Elliott.

Prescott School Carnival

Prescott High School Gymnasium

Games, food and more. Have a great evening and support Prescott schools.

Columbia County Fair Kick Off

6:30 p.m.

Dinner is hosted by 4-H leadership with music by Nancy and Richard Monacelli. The event will feature a silent and live auction and dessert. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets may be purchased at Village Shoppes and proceeds go toward 2014 fair activities.

Beginner' Soap Making Class

Waitsburg City Cleanup Day

8 a.m.

Yard debris should be out to your curb by 8 a.m. for pickup by Waitsburg City Staff and community volunteers. Volunteers should meet at City Shop (across from Preston Park) to gather and spruce up the town.

First Thursday Concert

St. Paul's Episcopal Church (323 Catherine St. Walla Walla)

The Walla Walla University harp ensemble will perform, directed by Chelsea Spence. Admission is free. Donations are gratefully accepted and will be given to the ASWWU mission project, "To Build a Home". This initiative hopes to raise $100,000 to build and maintain an orphanage in Peru.

Waitsburg Celebration Days Kickoff Reception

See the unveiling of the Celebration Days Commemorative Poster. Sparkling wines and ciders along with small cheese plates will be available.
