Waitsburg School Band Concert

WAITSBURG -- The Waitsburg School Bands, grades 5-12, are playing their annual Spring Concert on Monday May 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Waitsburg High School auditorium. This year's concert is named for its final song, "Skyfall," the theme to the James Bond movie, written and sung by Adele.

The Fifth Grade Band leads off this year with "Big Rock Candy Mountain" and other elementary favorites. They will play with the sixth graders on "Ancient Hunters," a moody song about our distant ancestors.

The Sixth Grade Band will then perform a beautiful chorale and a pep song, "Louie, Louie" - in preparation for next year's football season.

The 7th-8th grade band will play all three songs from their superior rated performance at band festival, plus "Beauty and the Beast," the movie theme.

The WHS Band will perform their superior-rated songs, "Fanfare for a Celebration" and "Prairie Dance," finishing with "Skyfall."

The concert will be short but sweet, and it will finish with punch and cookies at the concession stand. The community is warmly invited to share the best of the best, at WHS.
