OAKESDALE - Devin Acevedo smashed a threerun homer in the third inning to lead Waitsburg-Prescott to a 7-3 victory over Garfield- Palouse/Tekoa-Oakesdale on April30.
The Tigers pounded out 13 hits, including a single, a double and a triple by Kyle Gradwohl and two hits each by Acevedo Talen Larsen and Chad Pearson.
On the mound, Jacob Dunn held GPTO to three hits over six innings. Gradwohl pitched the seventh, giving up no runs or hits.
On April 29, the Tigers had a tougher time with Riverside, falling at home, 8-4. WP was roughed up for five runs in the fifth inning and was down 8-0 going into the seventh and final inning. They rallied for four runs in the bottom of that inning.
