Panthers Pounce Tigers in 2

PRESCOTT - The WP Tigers softball team fell 10-1 and 10-2 in a home field double-header against the Asotin Panthers on Saturday.

Both teams ended game one with zero errors but Asotin got 18 hits to WP's 10. WP's lone run was scored by a barely-safe slide into home by Caitlin Mohney. Mohney made a base hit, followed by a second base hit by Lexi Brannock. She ran for home on an RBI by Analise Salazar.

WP maintained zero errors in the nightcap, but only made six hits, scoring two runs. Brannock hit a triple in the third inning and was brought in by Salazar. The second run came in the fourth inning on a walk to Samantha Fedderson who was moved around by Paige Wood and brought in by Hannah Grant. "Overall we played good defense and did a better job at the plate. We will need to do a better job of not leaving runners on base and missing opportunities to score on Tuesday," said coach Angie Potts.

The Tigers face the Panthers again on Tuesday, May 13 in a loser-out game for the first round of the
