Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
PRESCOTT - Pomegranate Center Executive Director Milenko Matanovik will meet with community members on Saturday, May 17 at 4 p.m. at the Lions Hall in Prescott to assess progress on the Vacant Lot project and determine what else needs to be ready before the June build dates. Everyone interested in learning more about the project is encouraged to attend and bring a friend.
Matt Tunell and Len Conlee have been working to level the lot (between the Tuxedo Bar & Grill and Prescott Library on D Street), place foundations for the holes and hook up water. The community is encouraged to stop by and check out the progress.
The town will need to feed the crew during the "build" phase of the project, slated for the third week in June. Volunteers are needed to build, hammer, saw, sand, hang and fill planters as well as shop, prepare and serve food and clean up. There is a job for everyone.
