DAYTON - The Touchet Valley Arts Council (TVAC) is preparing for their upcoming musical, "Rodgers & Hamerstein's Cinderella," coming to the Liberty Theater this fall. Based on the classic fairy tale, this popular Rodgers & Hammerstein production was written for television, originally airing in 1957 starring Julie Andrews.
Elizabeth Arebalos-Jagelski will return from her one year sabbatical to direct the play. Auditions will take place in early June and Jagelski encourages performers young and old to try out for one of the many roles. "This is a musical the whole family can enjoy," said Jagelski, "whether they are sitting in the audience or part of the onstage magic."
People from around the region have been enjoying Liberty musicals every year since TVAC first produced "The Music Man" in 2001. Jagelski will be at the Liberty Theater with her production team on Wednesday, May 21 to share her vision for the show and explain how the audition process unfolds. The informational meeting will begin at 7p.m. For more information, contact the theater at (509) 382-1380 or via email at info@libertytheater.org.
