WAITSBURG - The American Legion Memorial Day Program will be held Monday, May 26 at 11 a.m. at the Waitsburg City Cemetery. Two names will be added to the Veterans Memorial Wall: Andrew Cook, WWII and Robert Danforth, Korea. Guest speakers will be TSgt. James Crawford and his sister SSgt. Amanda (Crawford) Anderson and their spouses.
TSgt. James Crawford, son of Sonia (Crawford) and Brian Segraves of Waitsburg, Wash. and Jim and Cindy Crawford of Sequim, Wash. is stationed at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. He is a Lead Propulsion Technician and has served with the U.S. Air Force for ten years. Jim is married to SSgt. Rose Crawford, daughter of Randy and Joanne Peterman of Elmira, Mich., who is also stationed at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. She is a Special Events Coordinator and has served with the U. S. Air Force for six years. The couple has a four-yearold son named Kaden and is expecting their second child in August of this year.
SSgt. Amanda (Crawford) Anderson, daughter of Sonia (Crawford) and Brian Segraves of Waitsburg, Wash. and Jim and Cindy Crawford of Sequim, Wash. is stationed at Holloman, AFB, New Mexico. She is a Munitions Systems Craftsman currently working as a Munitions Inspector. She has served with the U.S. Air Force for eleven years. Amanda is married to MSgt. Thimothy Anderson, son of William A. Anderson from Prospect, Penn. who is also stationed at Holloman AFB. He is an Armament Systems Craftsman and has served with the U.S. Air Force for seventeen years. The couple has a seven-year-old son named Joseph, a ten-yearold daughter named Lyllian and an eleven-year-old daughter named Grace.
Anyone who has a flag they have received on behalf of their loved one in their memory that they would like to donate for the purpose of being used at the Veterans Memorial Wall, please contact B. A. Keve at ikbakeve@charter.net or call 337-6546. There will be a container available for anyone who has a flag that is beyond use and would like it disposed of properly.
The American Legion Auxiliary will provide a potato bar luncheon at the Elementary School Multipurpose Room after the program.
