DAYTON - The Dayton Memorial Library will host summer reading programs for children and teens. The theme for kids from pre-K through 6th grade is "Fizz, Boom, Read." The Theme for students 6th through 12th grades is "Spark a Reaction." Both programs will focus on learning about science.
The program runs from June 23 through July 30. Regular weekly activities will include: Monday Marble Draw, Tuesday Trivia, Reading Wednesday, Thesaurus Thursday and Science Friday.
Special activities during the Summer Reading Program include:
June 9: "Page Turners: sign-ups
June 16-21: Summer Reading signups
June 25, 5:30 p.m.: Louis Foxx, Magician ("secret
pizza party" to follow)
June 30, 4 p.m.: Teen program on "Naked Eggs"
July 2, 12 p.m.: Page Turners book discussion
July 7, 4 p.m.: Teen program on "Make your own
lava lamp" and Pacific Science Center sign-ups
July 12, 7 p.m.: Angry Birds!!!
July 14, 4 p.m.: Sidewalk chalk art
July 21: Pacific Science Center workshops
July 25, 4 p.m.: Teen party
July 26, noon: Dragons Love Tacos party
