DAYTON - All Wheels Weekend in Dayton is expected to be even better than those that have come before. If that's possible.
The Dayton Chamber of Commerce and its All Wheels Committee are pulling out all the stops for the 20th version of Dayton's big car show and town blowout. 400+ custom and classic cars are expected to take part this year.
The biggest new event is the free stage show on Friday night: "The Ultimate Elvis Live!" from Las Vegas. Justin Shandor is one of the top young Elvises in the country. He and his band perform regularly in Las Vegas, and have appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman. The show runs from 9 - 10:30 p.m.
For the first time this year, the Chamber will raffle off a car: a beautiful unrestored 1970 Buick Electra. The car was donated by Merle and Joelle Jackson. Raffle tickets are $10 and are available at the Chamber office or online at allwheelsweekend.com.
All of the regular favorites, including Friday night cruising and the presentation of cars, the Saturday Show & Shine, Outlaw Lawn Dragsters and the Men's Drag Races will be back, along with the Saturday night Demo Derby.
More coverage and a complete schedule appear beginning on Page 7.
