Waitsburg Pool Update
WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg City pool will open for business at 1 p.m. on June 16. Lifeguards for the 2014 season are Zac Brown, Paige Wood and Devin Newman. Rosie Warehime will hold the position of Pool Manager this year while Kelly Steinhoff is out on maternity leave.
Pool Hours: Monday - Friday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. open swim; Tuesday & Thursday: 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., lap swim.
The daily swim fee is $2, which includes both daytime and evening sessions. Individual passes are $40 and a family pass is $80. Passes may be purchased at Waitsburg City Hall.
Swim Lessons will take place in two-week sessions, running from Tuesday through Friday each week. The first session will run from July 8 - July 18. If needed, a second session may be scheduled from July 22 - August 1. Lessons are free to Waitsburg residents.
Dayton Pool Update
DAYTON - The Dayton City Pool opened with a free swim day on June 10. The Monday through Friday schedule is as follows: 7-8 a.m. lap swim, 8-10 a.m. swim lessons, 10a.m. - noon morning aquacize, 1-5 p.m. afternoon rec.swim, 5-6 p.m. afternoon aquacize, 6-8 p.m. night rec. swim; 8-9 p.m. evening lap swim. On Saturdays the pool is only open for afternoon and evening lap swim. The pool is closed to the public on Sundays.
The fee to attend any one swim session (lap swim, rec. swim, aquacize) is $3 for anyone 6 years and older. Children under 5 may attend free with a paid adult or sibling. An individual pass is $60 and a family pass is $120 for four adults, and $25 for each additional person. Swim team members must hold a season individual or family pass. There is an additional $25 swim team fee in addition to the pass. Swim lessons are $35 per session. Diapers are not allowed in the pool, but Little Swimmers may be purchased at the pool office for $2.
There will be four swim lesion sessions: #1 June 30 - July 11, #2 July 14 - 25, #3 July 28 - Aug 8, #4 Aug. 11 - 22. Students are required to bring a towel and goggles are recommended.
Swim team is open for beginner to advanced swimmers. As long as swimmers can swim the length of the pool, they may participate. Practices begin Monday, June 16 and team members must pre-register and sign a waiver prior to attending their first practice. Prescott Pool Update
PRESCOTT - The Prescott Pool will open at noon on Saturday, June 14. The pool is operated by the Joint Parks and Recreation Board. The addition of an ADA compliant lift, added last year, allows entry into and out of the pool without the use of a ladder or steps.
Hours of operation are: Fri. - Sun .: Noon to 7 p.m. and Monday - Thursday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Daily Fees are: Adults (18+): $4; Youth (6-17) and Seniors (65+): $3; Children 5 and under swim free when accompanied by a paying adult. Individual passes are $55. A Family/Grandparent pass is $110 and includes two adults and all minor children living in the household.
Swim lessons will begin on Monday, June 23. Sign-up is requested. To sign up for lessons call the pool at (509) 849-2214 or leave a message at the office at (509) 849- 2314. Lessons will take place Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of each week. A Mother/Tot class will also be available. Lessons will take place in the mornings with times to be determined after registration. There is no charge for lessons for residents who live in the 99348 zip code area. The charge for others is $25 per two-week session.
The pool will hold monthly night swims on June 27, July 25 and August 29, during which the pool will remain open until 10 p.m.
