The Times advertising manager Kevin Steffanson recently visited Plymouth, Mass., where he took a break to read The Times in front of the National Monument to the Forefathers. While Plymouth is known for its famous rock, Steffanson found this "incredibly detailed"monument much more interesting. Built from 1859- 89, it is thought to be the world's largest, free-standing granite monument and is the third largest statue in the United States, towering at 81 feet -- over half the height of the Statue of Liberty.
