Sheriff Turner Knows Law Enforcement

During Sherriff Turner's first term as Walla Walla County sheriff he, his Deputies and Staff have dramatically enhanced the value of the Sherriff's Department to the citizens and property owners of Walla Walla County. He has accomplished this through his excellent proactive management and leadership skills.

Sheriff Turner has exhibited the intrinsic value of a varied background, which by expanding his frame of reference provides exposure to different perspectives on problem solving, personal management administration, public and personal interaction, plus man more traits and skills that require in-depth understanding supported by effective communication.

My 21 years in the Marine Corps, a Fire Commissioner for Spokane County Fire District No. 1, ( the largest Fire District in Washington State at that time.), and 18 plus years as an Airport Manager at two different airports, including Walla Walla has enabled me to recognize effective management and leadership.

The first time I met Sheriff John Turner I found him to be cordial, confident and positive. Sheriff Turner knows Law Enforcement, he knows the Law, he knows the Budget and he knows budgeting. Sheriff Turner knows the difference between management and leadership, and he knows the value of each.
