Dayton Candidates’ Forum is October 1

DAYTON - The Dayton chapter of the American Association of University Women will present a candidates' forum on October 1 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Liberty Theater.

Candidates for legislative and county offices will speak and answer questions from the audience. The forum will be moderated and a strict time limit will be enforced.

The forum will begin with an introduction of local unopposed candidates. They include: Sharon D. Richter, Columbia County Auditor; Chris Mills, Columbia County Assessor; Susan J. Marinella, Columbia County Clerk; Rocky Miller, Columbia County Sheriff; Audrey McLean, Columbia County Treasurer.

Candidates facing opposition will then be invited to make statements and answer questions from the audience:

Maureen S. Walsh for State Rep, District 16, position #1.

Mary Ruth Edwards, candidate for State Rep, District 16, position # 1, is not able to attend the Forum.

Frank Blair for State Rep, District 16, position #2.

Terry R. Nealey for State Rep, District 16, position #2.

Merle D. Jackson for Columbia County Commissioner, position #3.

Dwight E. Richter for Columbia County Commissioner, position #3.

Statement by Rea L. Culwell for Columbia County Prosecutor.

Randy O. Lewis for Columbia County Prosecutor.

Statements will be given in support of the Columbia County Hospital District levy.

At the conclusion of the forum, at approximately 9 p.m., refreshments will be served and audience members will be able to visit with the candidates.
