Dale Johnson Showed Quiet Leadership

Dear Editor,

"What would you like to see in a good county commissioner?" A question my friend Dale Johnson has asked as he dialogues with the voters. My answer is to see Dale as a good new county commissioner. Dale has shown that in his work as a responder to disasters. He assisted a multi-faith group rebuild a home for a fire survivor in White Swan near Yakima; a demonstration of his interest and ability to use his construction talents to help people.

We worked in New Jersey for nearly a month to help survivors of Hurricane Sandy. Our main task was working in a large warehouse filled with donated food, water, new and used clothing, gloves, tools, electric heaters and much more. These items were inventoried, organized, palletized, then trucked or delivered to the survivors of Hurricane Sandy directly and through the many voluntary organizations active in that disaster. As we distributed donations to the households and families, we noticed that basement apartment dwellers in Atlantic City were particularly hard hit.

Dale's leadership qualities became evident to me during our stay as he was willing to do the dirty jobs that no one else wanted to do. His humility and quiet leadership was an encouragement to all the members of our four-person team. He is the type of person that I want to provide leadership to our county government and will fit in well with the existing incumbents. I am voting for Dale and would ask that you consider doing the same.
