“DIA DE LOS MUERTOS”

WALLA WALLA -- Gesa Credit Union and Shakespeare Walla Walla, along with other local organizations present the Second Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival on October 24 and 25 at the Gesa Power House Theatre (111 N. 6th Street, Walla Walla). This two-day family-friendly community festival celebrates the Mexican "Day of the Dead" holiday and will include free activities, live music and dance, art demonstrations, food vendors, and more.

A concert featuring Mariachi Huenachi from Wenatchee High School as well as other local and regional dancers and singers will take place at 7:30 on Friday, Oct. 14. Food trucks will be on site beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The festival will continue all day Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A variety of activities, art projects and performances will take place throughout the day, including woodblock carving, face-painting, a "Pageant of the Dead" and Mexican dance demonstrations.
