PRESCOTT - Preliminary results from the Nov. 4 General Election show the Prescott Pool Maintenance and Operations levy passing easily with 69.04% of Walla Walla and Columbia County voters approving the levy. A 60% super majority is required to approve the pool's annual $110,000 levy, which translates to about 37 cents per $1,000 of evaluation, down slightly from 40 cents per $1,000 last year and 45 cents per $1,000 in 2012.
"I'm delighted that the 2015 levy results show a 69.04% yes vote. It will be great to continue our excellent programs for another year. I wholeheartedly thank the voters of the district for supporting recreational activities for the Prescott area. It's really wonderful that our voters have the desire to keep the pool open," said Prescott Joint Parks and Recreation District board chair Patsy Adams.
